Since many of you were wondering what I am eating in the picture below, I thought I would let you know it is a bat.
I didn't want to alarm you so I didn't tell you.
Okay, I'm totally kidding.
It wasn't a bat. It's a rat.
No, really it was sticky rice mixed with black beans and wrapped in a banana leaf.
Just thought you would want to know.

Knowing you, your expression would have been totally different than it was had it been a bat/rat. Although I'm sure there are some 'delicacies' there that you have yet to embrace!
Hopefully, by the time we get there this summer, you will have 'weeded out' the ones that we squeemish Westerners wouldn't really appreciate. We really don't want to offend anyone.

I was going with grasshopper. A rather large grasshopper but that was my guess. :)
Thanks for clarification! I've heard of some weird "food" items, or perhaps being so hungry, a person could eat a ____ (fill in the blank). Glad this was sane!
